1 BOOK 5 SCHOOLS
The 12th Annual Reading Event is a go! The Friends of the Crowsnest Library are thrilled to announce TC Energy will once again generously fund the One Book, Five Schools Program. Thank you, TC Energy! This program was initiated by the Crowsnest Pass Literacy Foundation in 2014, and has become a popular family and school event. Stay tuned for our next One Book, Five Schools event, launching in late January, with a title selected by representatives from all five schools. We are grateful to the Social Impact Team at TC Energy. 2025 Info Letter

LICE IN SCHOOL
Please be diligent in checking your child's head carefully and continue to do so regularly. If you do notice lice on your child's head, we encourage you to please treat promptly and thoroughly. Some families choose to inform the school if their child is infested, and we appreciate this information so we can let the rest of our school community know. We do keep the name of the student(s) confidential in order to protect the privacy of the family. However, this is strictly voluntary. We do not always know when there are lice in the school. Please contact Community Health Site at 403-562-5030 if you have any questions.
LOST AND FOUND
Lost and found items up to December have been donated. Going forward - Please clearly label all of your child's belongings. This makes it easier for staff to return 'lost' items to their owners. If you are missing items, please check the baskets at each entrance to the school. Clothing not picked up by the end of April will be washed and donated.

MABEL'S LABELS FUNDRAISING
Our school is fundraising with Mabel’s Labels! If you’re not familiar with Mabel’s Labels, they are personalized, durable, waterproof labels. They are great for everything from shoes, clothing tags, water bottles and backpacks. You can customize them with your name and a design, and they are dishwasher, laundry and microwave safe. Mabel’s Labels also offers clothing stamps, silicone bands for water bottles and medical alert labels. This is a great way to ensure your items don’t end up in the lost & found or mixed up. To reduce the spread of germs, we highly recommend labelling but they are also useful for everyday life. To support our fundraiser, visit campaigns.mabelslabels.com and select "Horace Allen School". COOLER WEATHER IS HERE
Please ensure that your child(ren) arrives dressed for the weather. With cooler temperatures, they will need heavier jackets, toques and gloves. We are outside unless there is a significant weather warning and temperatures are below -25C. This includes the Early bus students who will continue to play outside when they are dropped off.
HAS FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY - IGA GIFT CARDS
Horace Allen continues to offer IGA Gift Cards for purchase as an ongoing fundraiser. These gift cards can be used at IGA, Sobeys and Safeway. The school receives 5% back for all cards purchased. Please stop by the school office - Mrs. Snider has gift cards for you to purchase. Gift cards are in increments of $50 & $100. Your support is appreciated. Funds collected are used towards field trips and busing costs.
