LAST WEEK OF 2024 - PRIZE GIVE AWAYS FOR OUR STUDENTS!!
During our last week of school we are giving away prizes each morning. Every student's name has been added to a draw bucket. We are giving away 10 prizes / day. These prizes consist of older but never been used stuffed animals, books, HAS shirts & a few other goodies. On Friday we will have a larger prize to give away! We hope your children enjoy these gifts!!
LICE IN SCHOOL
Please be diligent in checking your child's head carefully and continue to do so regularly. If you do notice lice on your child's head, we encourage you to please treat promptly and thoroughly. Some families choose to inform the school if their child is infested, and we appreciate this information so we can let the rest of our school community know. We do keep the name of the student(s) confidential in order to protect the privacy of the family. However, this is strictly voluntary. We do not always know when there are lice in the school. Please contact Community Health Site at 403-562-5030 if you have any questions.
LOST AND FOUND

Lost and found items from September & October have been donated. Going forward - Please clearly label all of your child's belongings. This makes it easier for staff to return 'lost' items to their owners. If you are missing items, please check the baskets at each entrance to the school. Clothing not picked up by the end of December will be washed and donated to Bagatelle.
12 DAYS OF GIVING
HAS will once again be collecting for our local Food Bank as a community service project this holiday season starting December 2nd. Students are invited to bring nonperishable food items based on colour of the day to add to the donations from the school. 12 DAYS OF GIVING
We set up a 'holiday train' in the front lobby and our students enjoy watching the 'train cars' fill up with donations.

18th ANNUAL EMERGING ARTISTS PROGRAM
Congratulations to Horace Allen School's very own Lennon Seaman and Liam Lundrigan for having their exceptional art pieces selected to be displayed at our Central Office in Fort Macloed for the 2024-2025 school year!

MABEL'S LABELS FUNDRAISING
Our school is fundraising with Mabel’s Labels! If you’re not familiar with Mabel’s Labels, they are personalized, durable, waterproof labels. They are great for everything from shoes, clothing tags, water bottles and backpacks. You can customize them with your name and a design, and they are dishwasher, laundry and microwave safe. Mabel’s Labels also offers clothing stamps, silicone bands for water bottles and medical alert labels. This is a great way to ensure your items don’t end up in the lost & found or mixed up. COOLER WEATHER IS HERE
Please ensure that your child(ren) arrives dressed for the weather. With cooler temperatures, they will need heavier jackets, toques and gloves. We are outside unless there is a significant weather warning and temperatures are below -25C. This includes the Early bus students who will continue to play outside when they are dropped off.
HAS FUNDRAISING OPPORTUNITY - IGA GIFT CARDS
Horace Allen continues to offer IGA Gift Cards for purchase as an ongoing fundraiser. These gift cards can be used at IGA, Sobeys and Safeway. The school receives 5% back for all cards purchased. Please stop by the school office - Mrs. Snider has gift cards for you to purchase. Gift cards are in increments of $50 & $100. Your support is appreciated. Funds collected are used towards field trips and busing costs.
